About Me and WHY Neuroscience Made Easy

My name is Erik Garcia and I want to share my love for science and neuroscience with anyone who is interested. I am earned my Psychology degree from Colorado State University and then decided I wanted to study the learning mechanisms and neurobiology of substance abuse. That landed me in Manhattan, KS (Go Cats) where I studied the effects of early life environmental manipulations on drug seeking following abstinence. I also measured metabotropic and ionotropic glutamate receptor expression in the nucleus accumbens. I've taught General Psychology, Research Methods/Statistics Labs, and Brain & Behavior.

With all that said, my biggest passions are mentoring and teaching, which is why I want to share neuroscience with you!

The mission of Neuroscience Made Easy is to establish a forum to post about exciting primary neuroscience literature and make it accessible to the public.

Here, we want to introduce the public to scientific writing and inspire them to seek out primary literature on their own.

I realize that even some of the most 'basic' information is not basic when you are new. The Neuroscience Basics tab will provide the key concepts needed to understand the literature. If you have questions at any point, just comment and we'll get back to you!

We hope you enjoy our posts! Let us know!
